SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

7:22 P.M.

 

1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Border called the Special Council Meeting of the City of Hilshire Village to order at 7:22 P.M. at 8301 Westview, Houston, Texas 77055.

 

1.2 Present were Mayor Robin Border, Mayor Pro Tem Connie Castro, Council Members John Denninger, Zandra Anderson and Shannon Whiting.

 

2. CITIZENS COMMENTS/PUBLIC FORUM: NONE

 

3. ACTION ITEMS (CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON):

 

3.1 A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Castro to approve an Agreement Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Hilshire Village and Harris County allowing the City of Hilshire Village to participate in the Harris County Consolidated Region (HCCR) Application for Hurricane Ike Disaster Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. These funds will be used to address unmet needs in infrastructure caused by Hurricane Ike and to mitigate future disaster events, seconded by Council Member Whiting.

 

Mayor Border explained the CDBG funds and how the City applied for the money. He discussed the drainage issue and his thoughts on how the money should be spent on the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Pine Chase.

 

A vote was taken to approve the Agreement (MOU) between the City of Hilshire Village and Harris County allowing the City of Hilshire Village to participate in the Harris County Consolidated Region HCCR Application for Hurricane Ike Disaster Community Development Block grant. The funds will be used to address unmet needs in infrastructure caused by Hurricane Ike and to mitigate future disaster events and the motion passed unanimously.
